0159 ORDINANCE NO. 15Y AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: ALL THAT certain .lots, tracts or parcels of land lying and being situated in the County of Tarrant and Denton, State of Texas, more particularly described as follows, to wit: BEING a tract or tracts of land situated in the following surveys: Harrison Decker Survey Abstract No. 438 C. Clay Survey Abstract No. 346 and being located in the Counties of Tarrant and Denton, Texas; extending 1/2 mile in all directions from the current designated boundaries of the City of Southlake, Texas, save and except from the above described property, any land heretofore lawfully annexed by any city or town whose boundaries are contiguous with or within 1/2 mile of the City of Southlake, Texas, and save and except any part of the above described lands which is a portion of the Grapevine Resevoir. was held at 7:30 P.M. on the 18th day of December, 1968, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Southlake, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 5th day of December, 1968, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Southlake, Texas, on the first day of January, 1968, was 15 sq. miles, and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Southlake, Texas, is 1023 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Southlake, Texas; and BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: Section .l. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Southlake, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Southlake, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Southlake, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such city, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Southlake, Texas, to-wit: Being a tract or tracts of land situated in the Surveys and Abstract Nos. hereinbefore mentioned and being located in the Counties of Tarrant and Denton, State of Texas; extending 1/2 mile in all directions from the current designated boundaries of the City of Southlake, Texas, save and except from the above described property any land heretofore lawfully annexed by any city or town whose boun- daries are contiguous with or within 1/2 mile of the City of Grapevine, Texas, and save and except any portion of the above described land which lies within the extra territorial jurisdiction of any city or town, and save and except any part of the above described land which is a portion of the Grapevine Resevoir. Section 2. The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Southlake, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Southlake, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Southlake, Texas. The council recognizing this to be an emergency this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage of it and after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation of the City of Southlake, Texas. ~/~1 day of December, 1968.
