ORDINANCE NO. 125
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE
INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE
TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT
SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TO!,.N OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS
SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS,
AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN
PURSUANT TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE,
REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND
CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, John W. Simmons and others, inhabitants of
the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for
members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the
Mayor and the City Council of the Town of Southlake, Texas, their
petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of
Southlake, Texas, such area being described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the S. Freeman Survey, Tarrant County,
Texas, same being at the City Limit line of Southlake, Texas,
and being at a point in the east right of way line of Doyle
Road, 1575 feet south of the north boundary line of the S.
Freeman Survey:
THENCE, South along the east right of way line of Doyle
Road 775 feet to a point for corner
THENCE, East 1704.5 feet to the East Boundary Line of the
S. Freeman Survey for corner.
THENCE, North along the East Boundary line of said Survey
1780 feet to a point for corner.
THENCE, in a Southwesterly direction along the South boundary
line of U. S. A. Tract No. A39, and continuing 1991 feet to
the place of beginning containing 53 acres, more or less.
WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit
executed by John w. Simmons and others, inhabitants of the areas
described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State
Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said
petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the
qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of
