0110 ORDINANCE NO. 110 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANT TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10$ INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Mrs. Vera J. Jamison and others, inhabitants of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor and the Town Council,of the Town of Southlake, Texas, their petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of Southlake, Texas, such area being described as follows: A tract of land in the J. W. Hale Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, and more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the South Boundary Line of the J. W. Hale Survey at the Southeast Corner of a tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 48; THENCE, East along the South Boundary Line of said survey to a point where same intersects the Southwest Corner of a tract of land annexed to said Town pursuant to its Ordinance No. 94; THENCE, North along the West Line of tract described in said Ordinance No. 94 to its Northwest Corner; THENCE, East along the North Line of said Tract to a point where same intersects the West Line of a tract of land annexed to Southlake pursuant to its Ordinance No. 45; THENCE, North along the West Line of tract described in said Ordinance No. 45 to its Northwest Corner; THENCEx East along the North Line of said Tract to a point where same intersects the Northeast Corner of the J. W. Hale Survey; THENCE, North to a point where same intersects the original City Limit Line of Southlake in the John A. Freeman Survey; THENCE, West along the original City Limit Line to a point where same intersects the West Boundary Line of the John A. Freeman Survey; THENCE, South along the West Boundary Line of said Freeman and J. W. Hale Surveys, to a point where same intersects the Northwest Corner of the Tract annexed by Ordinance No. 48; THENCE$ East along the North Line of said Tract to its Northeast Corner; THENCE, South along the East Line of said Tract to the place of beginning. WHEREAS$ said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed by Mrs. Vera J. Jamison and others, inhabitants of the areas described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the Town of Southlake; and WHEREAS, it appearing to the Town Council of the Town of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying and adjacent to the Town of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: "2ft4 BEGINNING at a point in the South Boundary Line of the J. W. Hale Survey at the Southeast Corner of a tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 48; THENCE* East along the South Boundary Line of said survey to a point where same intersects the Southwest Corner of a tract of land annexed to said Town pursuant to its Ordinance No. 94; THENCE, North along the West Line of tract described in said Ordinance No* 94 to its Northwest Corner; THENCE* East along the North Line of said Tract to a point where same intersects the West Line of a tract of land annexed to Southlake pursuant to its Ordinance No. 45; THENCE, North along the West Line of tract described in said Ordinance No. 45 to its Northwest Corner; THENCE, East along the North Line of said Tract to a point where same intersects the Northeast Corner of the J. W. Hale Survey; THENCE, North to a point where same intersects the original City Limit Line of Southlake in the John A. Freeman Survey; THENCE, West along the original City Limit Line to a point where same intersects the West Boundary Line of the John A. Freeman Survey; THENCE, South along the West Boundary Line of said Freeman and J. W. Hale Surveys, to a point where same intersects the Northwest Corner of the Tract annexed by Ordinance No. 48; THENCE, East along the North Line of said Tract to its Northeast Corner; THENCE, South along the East Line of said Tract to the place of beginning. 2» THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas.
