ORDINANCE NO. 80
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHAB-
ITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE
PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND
BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT
AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING
FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES
OF SAID TOWN, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED,
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953, 53rd
Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974"G, Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, Mrs. Inez Blevins, a widow, owner of the real
property hereinafter described, having made application as by law
provided to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, a tract of land consisting of 67.15 acres, more or less, situated
in the H. Decker, J. A. Freeman and C. B. McDonald Surveys, Tarrant
County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West line of the C. B. McDonald
Survey 8-510 varas South of the Northeast corner of the H.
Decker Survey and the Southeast corner of the J. A. Freeman
Survey;
THENCE, North 89 degrees 45 minutes West 125-810 varas to a
point in the East line of County Road No. 3099;
THENCE, North along the East line of County Road No. 3099 to a
point in the South line of road;
THENCE, North 86 degrees 45 minutes East along the South line
of road 252y5/10 varas to a stake;
THENCE, South 13-1/10 varas to a stake;
THENCE, East 119-4/10 varas to a stake;
.THENCE, South 0 degrees 15 minutes West 271-710 varas to a stake;
THENCE,. South 89 degrees East 94ti3/10 varas to a stake;
THENCE, South 15 minutes West 862-•310 varas to a stake in the
Northwest line of right of way of the St. L. & S. W. RR;
THENCE, South 54 degrees 35 minutes West along line of right of
way 127 varas;
THENCE, West 18~4/10 varas;
THENCE, North 456-510 varas;
THENCE, North 89 degrees 45 minutes West 221 varas to the place
of beginning.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town of
Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A".
1.
THAT, the property owners hereinabove described being adjacent
and contiguous to the Town Limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is hereby
annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and is
hereby made an integral part thereof.
2.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be
entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens and-
property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the acts and
ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect
and that which may be hereafter adopted.
3.
THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended so
as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the Town of
Southlake, Texas.
4.
THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and duly
attested by the Town Secretary.
