0073 r , 7 s ORDINANCE NO. 73 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH- LAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANT TO TITLE 28,- CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUND- ARIES OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, H. M. Hunter and others, inhabitants of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas,, their petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of Southlake, Texas, such area being described as follows: A tract of land situated in the 0. W. Knight Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099; 950 varas from the West line of the said 0. W. Knight Survey, being the center line of said Survey at such point; THENCE, North along the said center linetn the Southeast corner of a 40 acre tract of land, annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on December 3, 1956, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 18; THENCE, along the South line of a 21 acre tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake on January 12, 1957, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 29 to the Southeast corner thereof; THENCE, North along the East line of said tract which is City Limit Line o417 Southlake created by said Ordinance No. 29, to a City Limit Line, 700 feet South of the center line of F. M. Road 1709 Road; THENCE, East along said City Limit Line to a point in a City Limit Line running North and South, same being 400 feet West of the center line of County Road No. 3021; THENCE, South along the said City Limit Line at all time 400 feet from the center line of County Road No. 3031 to the North line of a tract of land owned by C. A. Prade and wife annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on Dec. 29, 1956, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 28; THENCE, South along the West line of the said Pra.de tract, the Southwest corner thereof, and continuing South along the West line of a ten acre tract owned by Paul L. Schell and wife annexed to the "town of Southlake on Dec. 3, 1956, pursuant to its Ordinance No.' 8, to the Southwest corner of said tract; THENCE, East along the South line of the said ten acre tract to a point 400 feet West of the center line of County Road No. 3031, a City Limit Line at such point; THENCE, South along the said City Limit Line to the Southwest corner thereof at such point; THENCE, East along the said South City Limit Line to the West right of way line of County Road No. 3021; THENCE, South along said right of way line to the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099; THENCE, West along the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099, 950 vrras to the place of beginning. WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed by H. M. Hunter and others, inhabitants of the areas described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the Town of South- lake, Texas; and WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying and adjacent to the Town of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: r. 2 N BEGINNING at a point in the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099; 950 varas from the West line of the said 0. W. Knight Survey, being the center line of said Survey at such point; THENCE, North along the said center line to the Southeast corner of a 40 acre tract of land, annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on December 3, 1956, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 18; THENCE,' along the South line of a 21 acre tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on January 12, 1957, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 29 to the Southeast corner thereof; THENCE, North along the East line of said tract which is City Limit Line of Southlake created by said Ordinance No. 29, to a City Limit Line, 700 feet South of the center line of F. M. Road 1709; THENCE, East along said City Limit Line at all time 400 feet from the center line of County Road No. 3031 to the North line of a tract of land owned by C. A. Prade and wife annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on Dec. 29, 1956, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 28; THENCE, South along the West line of the said Prade tract, the Southwest corner thereof, and continuing South along the West line of a ten acre tract owned by Paul L. Schell and wife annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on Dec. 3, 1956, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 8, to the Southwest corner of said tract; THENCE, East along the South line of the said ten acre tract to a point 400 feet West of the center line of County Road No. 3031, a City Limit Line at such point; THENCE, South along the said City Limit Line to the Southwest corner thereof at such point; THENCE, East along the said South City Limit Line to the West right of way line of County Road No. 3021; THENCE, South along said right of way line to the North right of way line of County Road No, 3099; THENCE, West along the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099, 950 varas to the place of beginning. 2. THAT the inhabitants of the Territory herein annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made 'in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. N 3 3. THE official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake, Texas, to be corrected and amended so as to include the aforementioned des- cribed territory as part of said Town. THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and approval. ADOPTED this 9 day of February, A. D. 1957.
