0072 ORDINANCE NO. 72 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH.. LAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANT TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUND- ARIES OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, H. M. Hunter and others, inhabitants of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor andthe Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, their petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of Southlake, Texas, such area being described as follows: A tract of land situated in the 0. W. Knight Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING in the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099 in the West line of the 0. W. Knight Survey; THENCE, North along the said West line of said Survey to a point being the Southwest corner of a tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on December 3, 1956, pur. su ant to its Ordinance No. 18, being the present Southern City Limits of said Town in the Western half of the 0. W. Knight Survey at such point; THENCE, East along the said City Limit Line 950 varas to the center line of the 0. W. Knight Survey; THENCE, South along the center line of the O. W. Knight Survey to the North right of way line of County Road No• 3099; THENCE, West along the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099 to the place of beginning. WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed by H. M. Hunter and others, inhabitants of the areas described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the Town of Southy lake, Texas; and WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that all of same is adjacent 6f the present City Limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying and adjacent to the Town of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING in the North right of-way line of County Road No,R - 3099 in the West line of the 0. W. Knight Survdy; THENCE, North along the said West line of said Survey to a point being the Southwest corner of a tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on December 3, 1956, pur- suant to its Ordinance No. 18,, being the present Southern City Limits of said Town in the Western half of the 0. W. Knight Survey at such point; THENCE, East along the said City Limit Line 950 varas to the center line of the 0. W. Knight Survey; THENCE, South along the center line of the 0. W. Knight Survey to the North right of way line of County Road, No. 3099; THENCE, West along the North right of way line of County Road No. 3099 to the place of beginning. 2. THAT the inhabitants of the Territory herein annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuant to Title 28v Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. 3. THE official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake, Texas, to be corrected and amended so as to include the aforementioned des" cribed territory as part of said Town. THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage-and approval. ADOPTED this 9 day of February, A.
