ORDINANCE NO. 42
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND IN-
HABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE
PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND
BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT
AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING
FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES
OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953, 53rd
Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974NG, Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, E. 0. Doughty and wife, Ermadean Doughty,
of Tarrant County, Texas, owners of the real property hereinafter
described, having made application as by law provided to the Mayor
and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, a tract of
land consisting of 42 acres, more or less, situated in the L. H.
Chivers Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described by metes
and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, same being 262.5 varas
West of the East line of the L. H. Chivers Survey,
and 976 varas South of the North boundary line
thereof;
THENCE, North in a line parallel to the East
boundary line of said survey 488 varas to a
point for the Northeast corner of the tract
herein described;
THENCE, West along the North boundary line of
said tract 302 varas more or less to a point
being the present North-Northwest corner of said
tract;
THENCE, South 168 varas to a point;
THENCE, WEst 168 varas to the West boundary line
of the said L. H. Chivers Survey ;
THENCE, South along the West boundary line of the
said survey, 320 varas to the Southwest corner of
said tract;
THENCE, East along the South line of said tract to
the Southeast corner thereof, the place of beginning.
A plat of said land showing its location wi-th respect to the Town of
Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A".
