0034 S ORDINANCE NO. 34 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANT TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PRO- VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, and others, inhabitants of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Sout.hlake, Texas,. their petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of Southlake, Texas, such area being described as follows; BEGINNING at the Southeast Corner of a tract of land consisting of 40 acres situated in the Northeast one-quarter of the East half of the L. B. G. Hall Survey, owned by Mrs. Mary Howard; THENCE, West along the South boundary line of the said Howard tract to the Southwest corner thereof in the East right of way line of County Road No. 3123, continuing across the said road to the West right of way line thereof; THENCB, North along the West right of way line of County Road No. 3123 to a point in the North boundary line of the T. M. Hood Survey; THENCE, crossing said road No. 3123 at such points to the East and continuing East al-ong the said North boundary line of the T. M. Hood Survey to a point where same intersects the Southwestern right of way line of State Highway No. 114; THENCE, South along the South right of way line of State Highway No. 114 to the Southeast corner of a. one (1) acre tract of which W. H. Crumbaker and wife, Novelle R. Crumbaker, are the owners thereof; { THENCE, West along the said one (1) acre tract to the East line of the Crumbaker 40 acre tract, said point being the Southwest corner of the said (1) acre tract, and the East boundary line of said 40 acre tract; THENCE, South along the East boundary line of the said Crumbaker 40 acre tract and the G. H. Burnett 40 acre tract to the Southwest corner of the said Burnett Tract, same being also the North boundary line of the E. F. Depew 43-1/3 acre tract; THENCE, East along the North boundary line of the said Depew Tract to the Northeast corner thereof; THENCE, South along the East boundary line of the said Depew Tract to the Southeast corner thereof; THENCE, West along the South line of the said Depew Tract to the Northeast corner of the Mary Howard 57 acre tract; THENCE, South, East and South along the East, North and East boundary line of the said Howard 57 acre tract and continuing South along the Howard 40 acre tract adjoining said 57 acre tract, to the place of beginning. WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed by and others, inhabitants of the areas described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the Town of Southlake, Texas; and WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying and adjacent to the Town of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: 2 - y BEGINNING at the Southeast Corner of a tract of land consisting of 140 acres situated in the Northeast one-quarter of the East half of the L. B. G. Hall Survey, owned by Mrs. Mary Howard; THENCE, West along the South boundary line of the said Howard Tract to the Southwest corner thereof in the East right of way line of County Road No, 3123, continuing across said road to the West right of way line thereof; THENCE, North along the West right of way line of County Road No. 3123 to a point in the North boundary line of the T. M. Hood Survey; THENCE, crossing said road No. 3123 at such points to the East and continuing East along the said North boundary line of the T. M. Hood Survey to a point where same intersects the Southwestern right of way line of State Highway No. 1114; THENCE, South along the South right of way line of State Highway No. 1114 to the Southeast Corner of a one (1) acre tract of which W. H. Crumbaker and wife, Novelle R. Crumbaker, are the owners thereof; THENCE, West along the said one (1) acre tract to the East line of the Crumbaker 140 acre tract, said point being the Southwest corner of the said one (1) acre tract, and the East boundary line of said 140 acre tract; THENCE, South along the East boundary line of the said Crumbaker 140 acre tract and the G. H. Burnett 140 acre tract to the Southwest corner of the said Burnett Tract, same being also the Borth boundary line of the E. F. Depew 143.-.1/3 acre tract; THENCE, East along the North boundary line of the said Depew Tract to the Northeast corner thereof; THENCE, South along the East boundary line of the said Depew Tract to the Southeast corner thereof; THENCE, West along the South line of the said Depew Tract to the Northeast corner of the Mary Howard 57 acre tract; THENCE, South, East and South along the East, North said East boundary line of the said Howard 57 acre tract and continuing South along the Howard 140 acre tract adjoining said 57 acre tract, to the place of beginning. N 3 2. THAT the inhabitants of the Territory herein annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. 3. THE official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake, Texas, to be corrected and amended so as to include the afore. mentioned described territory as part of said Town. 4.
