ORDINANCE NO. 31
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND IN-
HABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE
PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND BE
BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND
TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING VOR
AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES
OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED,
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93: codified as Article 974-G,
Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Charles Monroe McPherson and wife,
Lou Etta McPherson, of Tarrant County, Texas, owner of the real pro"
perty hereinafter described, having made application as by law pro-
vided to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, a tract of land situated in the J. W. Chivers Survey, Tarrant
County, Texas, as is described in Warranty Deed recorded in Volume
2868, Page No. 259, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully
described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the South right of way line of
S. H. No. 114, at the Northwest City Limit Line 400 feet
west of the West right of way line of County Road No. 3021;
THENCE, Northeasterly along said North right of way line to
its intersection with the North right of way line of County
Road No. 3080;
THENCE, East along the North right of way line of County
Road No. 3080 to the Southwest Corner of the J. W. Chivers
Survey;
THENCE, East along the South line of said survey, 196 feet
to a point for corner;
THENCE, North 1 degree 27 minutes East 519.49 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE, West 196 feet to a point for corner;.
THENCE, South 1 degree 27 minutes West 519.49 feet con-
tinuing South to the South right of way line of County
Road No. 3080;
THENCE, West along the South right of way line of County
Road No. 3080 to the East right of way line of S.H.No.114;
THENCE, Southeasterly along the East and North right of way
line of S. H. No. 114 to the place of beginning.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town of
.Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A".
1.
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent
and contiguous to the Town Limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is hereby
annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and
is hereby made an integral part thereof.
2.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens and
property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the acts and or-
dinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect and
that which may be. hereafter adopted.
3.
THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of.Southlake,
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended so
as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the Town of
Southlake, Texas.
THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and
duly attested by the Town Secretary.
ADOPTED this day of December, A. D. 1956.
