0018 ORDINANCE NO. 18 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS. AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE.RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY. THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANT TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF S.OUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PRO- VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 9714 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes. of Texasr and others, inhabitants of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, their petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of Southlake,, Texas.}; such area being described as follows: A tract of land consisting of 112 acres more or less situated in the 0. W. Knight Abstract No. 899, and W. W. Hall Abstract No. 687 Surveys, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the 0. We Knight Survey, in the South Boundary Line of a tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas$ on Novo 12, 1956, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 3 of said Town, 950 varas East of the West Boundary Line of said Survey* said point being also the Northwest Corner of a Forty-.four (44) acre tract owned by A. W. Creel as is described in a Warranty Deed,, recorded in Vol. 1478 page 630 Deed Records* Tarrant County, Texas:y being also the town limit at said point; THENCE, West3 along the North Boundary line of the said forty"four (44) acre tract to a point for corner of 471 varas East from the West Boundary Line of the 0. W. Knight Survey, said point being also the Southwest Corner of the tract of land described in the aforementioned Ordinance. No. 3; THENCE, North in a line parallel to the West Boundary Line of the said 0 We Knight Survey, to the North Boundary Line of said survey in the center of the Keller ~ Grapevine (F. M. 1709) Road, and continuing North across said road to the North right of way line thereof; THENCE, West along the North right of way line of the said Keller-Grapevine (F. M. 1709) Road, to the south- east corner of the 2..2/3 acre tract of land owned by the Advanced United Christian Church and the Advanced Christian Conference as is described in deeds recorded in Vol. 619, Page 180, Vol. 985 Page 564, and Vol. 1379 page 597, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE North along the East boundary line of said 2-2/3 acre tract a distance of 18445 varas to the northeast corner thereof; THENCE West along the north boundary line of said tract 113.4 varas to the north-northwest corner thereof; THENCE South in a line parallel to tae :-lest 3oindary line of the W. If. Mall Survey, 98.6 varas to the North Southwest Corner of said tract; THENCE East in a line parallel to the south boundary line of the 0. W. Knight Survey to a point for corner of said tract and continuing south along the lower west line of said 2-2/3 acre tract 85.9 varas to the north right of way line of the Keller-Grapevine (F. M. 1709) Road; THENCE West along the North right of way line of the Keller- Grapevine Road 167 varas to a point in the West Boundary Line of the said W. W. Hall Survey; THENCE South along the West boundary line of the W. W. Hall Survey to the Northwest corner of the said 0. W. Knight Survey and continuing south along the west boundary line of the 0. M. Knight Survey 888 varas more or less to a paint, which is the southwest corner of a tract of land consist g of 40 acres more or less owned by H. H. Nickelson and wifa.Lu_e.ille Nickelson as is described in Vol. 1530, page 38, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE East along the South boundary line of the said 40 acre Nickelson Tract 950 varas to the southeast corner thereof; THE14CE North in a line parallel to the West Boundary Line of the said 0. W. Knight Survey, along the east boundary line of the said 40 acre Nickelson Tract and the 44 acre Creel Tract as afore;.- mentioned to the place of beginning. WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed by and others, inhabitants of the areas described and who'are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the Town of Southlake, Texas; and WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in 2 width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXASi : 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the Town of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: A tract of land consisting of 112 acres more or less situated in the 0. W. Knight Abstract No. 899, and W. W. Hall Abstract No. 687 Surveys, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the O. W. Knight Survey, in the South Boundary Line of a tract of land annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, on Nov. 12, 1956, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 3 of said Town, 950 varas East of the West Boundary Line of said Survey, saidpoint being also the Northwest Comer of a Forty-Four (44) acre tract owned by A. W. Creel as is described in a Warranty,Deed, recorded in Vol. 1478, page 63, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, being also the town limit line at said point; THENCE West along the North boundary line of the said forty--four (44) acre tract to a point for corner at 471 varas East from the West Boundary Line of the O. W. Knight Survey, said point being also the Southwest Corner of th tract of land described in the aforementioned Ordinance No. 3; THENCE North in a line parallel to the West Boundary Line of the said 0. W. Knight Survey, to the North Boundary Line of said survey in the center of the Keller-Grapevine (F. M. 1709) Road, and continuing North across said road to the North right of way line thereof; THENCE West along the North right of way line of the said Keller. Grapevine (F. M. 1709) Road, to the southeast corner of the 2.-23 acre tract of land owned by the Advanced United Chrisitan CQ.nfer- ence as is described in deeds recorded in Vol. 619, page. 180, Vol. 985 Page 564, and Vol. 1379 page 597, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE North along the East boundary line of said 2-2/3 acre tract a distance of 184.5 varas to the northeast corner thereof; TIMIC :.West along the north boundary line of said tract 113.4 varas to the north-.northwest corner thereof; -3-- THENCE, South in a line parallel to the West Boundary Line of the We W. Hall Surveys 98.6 varas to the North South- west Corner of said tract; THENCE,., East in a line parallel to the south boundary line of the 0. W. Knight Survey to a paint for corner of said tract and continuing south along the lower west line of said 2..4213 acre tract 85.9 varas to the north right of way line of the Keller " Grapevine ( F. M. 1709) Road; THENCE,,. West along the North right of way line of the Keller w Grapevine Road 167 varas to a point in the West Boundary Line of the, said W. W. Hall Survey; THENCE, South along the West boundary line of the W. W. Hall Survey to the northwest corner of the said 0. W. Knight Survey and continuing south along the west boundary line of the 0. W. Knight Survey 888 varas more or less to a point, which is the southwest corner of a tract of land consisting of 40 acres more or less owned by H. He Nickelson and wife Lucille Nickelson as is described in Vol. 1530* page 38, Deed Records, Tarrant County., Texas;' THENCE.,, East along the South boundary line of the said 40 acre Nickelson Tract 950 varas to the southeast corner thereof; THENCRO North in a line parallel to the West Boundary Line of the said a. W. Knight Surrey, along the east boundary line of the said 40 acre Nickelson Tract and the 44 acre Creel Tract as aforementioned to the place of beginning. 2. THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed to the Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the -rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive,, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. 3.
