ORDINANCE NO. 16
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABIT-
ANTS THEREOF SMALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND BE BOUND BY
THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE
HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMEND-
ING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID
TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974-G,
Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, John H. Cope and wife Lela H. Cope,
owners of the real property hereinafter described having made
application as by law provided to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen
of the Town of Southlake, Texas, a tract of land consisting of
120 acres out of the James Thornhill Survey, Patent No, 302,
Volume 41, Tarrant County, Texas, as is described in a General
Warranty Deed, recorded in Volume 2896, Page 459, Deed Records,
Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described as follows; to.-wit;
BEGINNING at the Southwest Corner of the said James
Thornhill Survey in the North right of way line of County
Project No. 3099; then north, 753 va.ras along the West
Boundary Line of said Survey to a point for corner same
being the southwest corner of a forty (40) acre tract,
described in a deed recorded in Volume 89 Page 150, Deed
Records, Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCE, East, along the South Line of said forty (40)
acre tract to the East boundary line of the said James
Thornhill Survey;
THENCE, South, along the East boundary line of said survey
and the West line of the P. J. Hyde Survey, 753 varas to
the South right of way line of County Project No 3099;
THENCE, West, along the South right of way line of County
Project 3099 to the Southwest corner of the Thornhill,
Northeast corner of the S. H. Thompson and Southeast
Corner of the T. J. Thompson Surveys in the intersection
of County Projects No. 3099 and 3088 the place of beginning.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town
of Southlakex Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A".
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and
contiguous to the Town Limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is izereby
annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and
is hereby made an integral part thereof,

THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens
and property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the
acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full
force and effect and that which may be hereafter adopted.

TIUs.T, the official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake,,
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended
so as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the Town
of Southlake, Texas.

THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor
and duly attested by the Town Secretary,
