ORDINANCE NO. 11
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A
PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABIT-
ANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES
OF OTHE--S~ CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND BE BOUND BY
THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE
HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMEND-
ING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID
TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953:
531-d Legislature, page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article
974-G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, L. L. Taylor and wife
Bessie Taylor, owners of the real property hereinafter described
have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and Board
of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, a tract of land
situated in the L. B. G. Hall Survey, Abstracts 686 Tarrant
County, Texas, same being 70 acres out of a 80 acre tract of
land as is described in a General Warranty Deed recorded in
Vol. Page Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas,
more fully described by metes and bounds as follows; to.-.wit;
BEGINNING at a point in the northwest corner of the
intersection of Keller - Grapevine (F, M. 1709) Road and
County Road No. 3016;
THENCE, South along the West right of wady line of said
County Project to the North right of wqy line of the
Keller - Grapevine ( F. M. 1709) Road;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the North right
of way line of said Keller - Grapevine Road a distance
of 339 va.ras to the Southeast corner of a ten (10) acre
tract of land more or less, owned by Milten Francis Murphy
and wife Mildred Louise Murphy;
THENCE, North in a line parallel to the East Boundary Line
of the said L. B. G. Hall Survey a. distance of 411 va.ras
more or less, to the northeast corner of the said Murphy
ten (10) acre tract;
THENCE, West along the North Line of the said Murphy tract
135 va.ras to the Northwest corner thereof;
THENCE, North 539 varas more or less to the North Boundary
Line of the said L. B. G. Hall Survey;
TdfENCE, East along the North boundary line of the said
survey to the West Boundary Line of County Project No. 3016
the Dla.ce of beginning,
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the
Town of Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A";
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, as provided by the law ha.a received said petition and
duly and legally considered the same, and it appearing to the
Board of said "town that all statutory requirements in connection
with said application have been fulfilled and that said area is
adjacent and contiguous to the Town of Southlake, Texas, and is
not more than one-..half (1/2) mile in width, on which not more
than three qualified voters reside, all of which the Board so finds;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
THAT, the property hereina.bove described being adjacent and
contiguous to the Town limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is hereby
annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and
is hereby made an integral part thereof.
2.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens
and property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the acts
and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and
effect and that which may be hereafter adopted.
3.
THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of
Southlake, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is
hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned territory
as part of the Town of Southlake, Texas,

THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor
and duly attested by the Town Secretary.
