0008 ORDINANCE NO. 8 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953, 53rd Legislature, page 357, chapter 93, codified as Article 974"G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Paul L, Schell and wife,. Mary Schell, owners of the real property hereinafter described have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas, requesting annexation to the 'town of Southlake, Texas, of a tract of land of the dimension 165 varas by 225 varas situated in the 0. W. Knight Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, being the West part of a ten (10) acre tract of land as is more fully described in a Warranty Deed recorded in Volume 2851 Page 198 Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a. point in the North South City Limit Line running parallel to the West right of way line of County Project No. 3021, 1161 varas South of the North Boundary Line of the 0. W„ Knight Survey; THENCE, iffiest along the North line of said Ten (10) acre tract above described 228 varas to the Northwest Corner thereof; THENCE, South along the West line of said Tract 165 varas to the South West corner thereof; THENCE, East along the South Line of said Tract to a point where same intersects the City Limit Line of Southlake; THENCE, North along said City Limit Line to the place of beginning. A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town of Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A°; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Souti-ila.ke, Texas, as provided by law has received said petition and duly and legally considered the saute, and it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of said Town that all statutory requirements in connection with said application have been fulfilled and that said area is adjacent and contiguous to the Town of Southlake, Texas, and is not more than one-half (1/2) mile in width, on which not more than three qualified voters reside, all of which the Board so finds; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS : THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and contiguous to the Town Limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and is hereby made an integral part thereof., 2„ THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens and property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect and that which may be hereafter adopted,. 3. THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the Town of Southlake, Texas* 4, THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and duly attested by the Town Secretary, 3 ADOPTED this 1447]i, day of November, A.
