ORDINANCE NO. 1
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING RULES OF PROCEDURE IN CON-
DUCTING MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL
OF ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS THEREOF
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS:
I.
A. All meetings of the Board of Aldermen shall be held
within the limits of the Town of Southlake.
B. The regular meetings of the Board of Aldermen shall
be held on the F'i RJT McNoAy„_ of each month a.t 9:60
P. M. orclock, The Ma.yor# of his own motion, or on the
application of three Doard of Aldermen, may call special meetings
by notice to each member of the Board of Aldermen, the Secretary
and the City .Attorney, served personally or left at their usual
place of abode.
C. Each member of the Board of Aldermen shall at every
meeting of the Board be entitled to one vote in person but no
proxy shall be voted on any occasion.
D. The Mayor shall preside at all meetings of the Board
and shall with three of the Board of Aldermen constitute a quorum
for the transaction of business; and the quorum shall have the
power to enact such by--laws and ordinances not inconsistent with
the laws and constitution of the State of Texas, as shall be deemed
proper for the governing of the Town.
II.
A. The order of business at regular meetings of the -Ooa.rd
of Aldermen shall be as follows"
1. Calling meet3i:jg to order.
2. Reading of minutes of previous E-aeeting or meetings.
3. Reading of bills,
4. Reading of communications.
5. Unfinished business.
6. Report of Town Secretary.
7. Report of Marshal.
8. New business.
9. Adjournment.
B. At all special meetings of the board of Aldermen, tze
order of business shall be as follows:
1, Opening;
2. Special order of business
3. Adjournment,
III,
The -procedure at all meetings of the Board shall be in
accordance with the provision of Roberts Rules of Order,
IV,
All ordinances and resolutions and parts thereof in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict
herewith,
V.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage and approval.
