Mayor John Huffman led the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags. 3.TARRANT COUNTY 2020 CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC HISTORICAL BOOK PRESENTATION MADE BY TARRANT COUNTY CLERK MARY LOUISE NICHOLSON Mayor Huffman introduced Tarrant County Clerk Mary Louise Nicholson who presented the Tarrant County 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic Historical Book to the City of Southlake library. 4.HONORS AND RECOGNITION: PROCLAMATION FOR THE NORTH TEXAS PERFORMING ARTS Mayor Huffman introduced Vice President of Youth Theatres Lindsey Lederer and then recognized the North Texas Performing Arts inaugural Southlake production of Annie Jr. with a proclamation. AND NATIONAL ARBOR DAY Mayor Huffman introduced Assistant to the Director of Planning and Development Services Madeline Oujesky who spoke about Tree City U.S.A. and National Arbor Day. Following Ms. Oujesky’s presentation, Mayor Huffman provided a proclamation recognizing Arbor Day 2021. 6. SOUTHLAKE BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT – WESTIN HOTEL Director of Economic Development & Tourism Daniel Cortez provided a video showcasing The Westin Hotel, a local Southlake business. 7. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA. NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AND EACH ITEM WILL BE CONSIDERED DURING THE REGULAR SESSION. Mayor Huffman reviewed the items on the consent agenda. Motion was made to approve Item 9A, SV21-0021, Sign Variance for Mody Southlake located at 2101 E. Southlake Blvd., subject to Staff Report dated November 9, 2021, and granting the following: - Approval of the cove lighting. The cove lighting must not be visible and must be a white light. - Denying the monument sign request to reduce the separation between the two signs from 500 to 170 feet. - Allowing the monument sign to be constructed as presented and not requiring the sign face to be framed by a minimum 6” of brick, stone or masonry material matching the front façade of the building. - Limiting the upper story signs to two signs on the north façade and no signs on the east façade – not two signs per façade as requested. Also noting that the upper story signs must meet all 704 – J, as amended sign ordinance requirements in terms of type, location, letter height and sign color.
