Item 9A - Variance LetterMonday, September 27, 2021 Southlake City Council 1400 Main Street Suite 270 Southlake, TX 76092 RE: 2760 Raintree Drive —Variance to Subdivision Ordinance No. 483 Dear Mayor and City Council, We are writing this letter as a request for a variance to the requirement of 5' sidewalks in Subdivision Ordinance No. 483. We are building a home at 2760 Raintree Drive and love the country feel to the neighborhood. Recently, the blacktop roads were all patched and nicely striped. When we received feedback on our permit requiring the 5' sidewalks, we were surprised as no one else on our street or the lanes branching off our street have sidewalks. If we put a sidewalk on our lot it would not only look strange but would not be practical. As we would be the only ones with a sidewalk and there would be no continuing sidewalk on either side of us. We would like to keep the country feel of the Raintree neighborhood and hope you will grant the variance to not require the 5' sidewalk for our lot. I've included some photos of our street, showing the neighboring lots and no sidewalks. Please let me know if I can provide any other detail. We look forward to hearing from you.
