SIGN VARIANCE APPLICATION
Demonstration
Please demonstrate that the following conditions are appIicabI&to the requested sign variance:
That a literal enforcement of the sign regulation will create an unnecessary hardship or practical
difficulty on the applicant.
The site is internally focused and the Nordstrom building is over 600 feet. from South lake
3oulevard.
The area of the proposed sign is 250 sf, which is approximately 25% srnallerthan the
existing sign-
2- That the situation causing the unnecessary hardship or pracdcal difficulty is unique to the affected
property and is not self imposed_
The proposed sign is a result of a national re -branding program for Nordstrom.
3_ That the variance will not injure and will be wholly compatible with the use and permitted
development of adjacent properties.
This variance -&ill not injure adjacent properties since the sign area is less than the existing
sign. Also, visibility to the sign is vera limited due to existing buildings and landscaping in
front of the stere.
4- That the variance will be in harmony with the spirit and purpose of the sign ordinance.
The proposed sign stacks the letters and modifies proportions of the various letters to align
with a national re -branding program. The sign area is being reduced from the previously
approved (existing) sign.
