Demonstration
1. That a literal enforcement of the sign regulation will create an unnecessary hardship or practical difficulty on
the applicant
Question 1
This building is a salon. The salon is placed at the back of the property and is screened from
view when approaching this area. Upon arrival, clients must stay in their vehicle until their
appointment time. The salon is, made up of many suites and each beautician the r own space.
When the client appointment time has arrived, they check the directory for thea beautician's
suite numberr pick up the phone, and then they are buzzed in. Without this directory there is
no organization to how they would be allowed in and an unnecessary amount of clients would
be in a lobby area against city and state health protocols.
2. That the situation causing the unnecessary hardship or practical difficulty is unique to the affected property
and is not self imposed.
This is the only salon in this complex and therefore is the only building that needs this
directory. This directory will help the salon comply with state and city protocols for health and
safety that is out of their control.
Question 2
3. That the variance will not injure and will be wholly compatible with the use and permitted development of
adjacent properties.
This directory will not affect any other building besides the salon. It will actually help mitigate
traffic issues by filtering only those with a-ppointment times and will keep the parking lot less
crowded.

4. That the variance will be in harmony with the spirit and purpose of the sign ordinance.
The sign ordinance was created to ensure that signage and visible aspects of the surrounding
areas are congruent and has a pleasing aesthetic. This directory is made of quality material and
craftsmanship and stays in standard with the look and appeal of the other signage around it. It
Question 4 is not large, nor is it distracting or an eye sore.
