SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES May 11, 2021

CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Laura Hill, Mayor Pro Tem Shawn McCaskill, Deputy
Mayor Pro Tem John Huffman, and Councilmembers Kathy Talley, Chad Patton, Ronell
Smith and Randy Williamson.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Shana Yelverton, Assistant City Manager Alison
Ortowski, Chief Financial Officer Sharen Jackson, Deputy Director of Public Relations
Pilar Schank, Police Chief James Brandon, Fire Chief Mike Starr, Director of Human
Resources Stacey Black, Director of Economic Development and Tourism Daniel Cortez,
Senior Director of Planning and Development Services Ken Baker, Director of Public
Works Rob Cohen, and City Secretary Amy Shelley.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Special meeting was called to order by Mayor Hill at 5:06pm.
2. INVOCATION: CLAYTON REED
Councilmember Randy Williamson provided the invocation. Mayor Laura Hill led the
pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags.
3. RESOLUTION NO. 21-018, CANVASS THE RETURNS AND DECLARE THE
RESULTS OF THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS HELD ON MAY 1,
2021.
APPROVED
Mayor Hill read the results of the May 1, 2021 General and Special Election results into
the record, declaring the following:
