A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a Parks and Recreation Board was created for the purpose of planning and
developing parks and park sites within the City of Southlake for the use and benefit of its
citizens; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 646-B states that the Parks and Recreation Board shall
consist of seven (7) members to serve two (2) year terms; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council increased the number of seats on the Parks and Recreation
Board to nine (9) by creating Place 8 and 9, both to be two year terms to expire at the same time
as Places 1, 2 and 3; and,
WHEREAS, the terms for Katrina Peebles (Place 4), Mike Mills (Place 5), Liz Durham
Place 6), and Mary Georgia (Place 7) expired in May 2006, and the unexpired term of Cara
White (Place 8) is now vacant due to her resignation which expired in May 2007; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City
Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if
copied in their entirety.
Section 2. The City Council hereby appoints the following persons to the Parks and
Recreation Board:
Mary Georizia Place 4 term ends May 2008
Elizabeth McCracken Place 5 term ends May 2008
Michael Mills Place 6 term ends May 2008
Katrina Peebles Place 7 term ends May 2008
Elaine Cox Place 8 term ends May 2007
Section 3. This resolution shall become effective after its passage and approval by the City
Council.
