A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF THE NECESSARY
AGREEMENTS TO PERMIT ACCEPTANCE
OF CREDIT CARDS AS PAYMENT OF
TAXES, FINES, OR FEES AS OUTLINED IN
THE ADOPTED FEE SCHEDULE,
INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PARKS
AND RECREATION FEES, UTILITY FEES,
PERMITS AND INSPECTION FEES, AND
LIBRARY FINES AND FEES.
RECORD
WHEREAS, staff has received multiple requests from residents, developers,
contractors, and other city customers to pay taxes, fines, or fees with credit
cards; and
WHEREAS, standard contracts with credit card companies expressly deny
the city the opportunity to recoup from its' customers transaction fees and
administrative fees charged to the city; and
WHEREAS, the transaction fees and administrative fees may be 3.75% or
less of the total charge, at the sole expense of the city,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
I.
The City Manager or designee is hereby authorized to execute the
necessary agreements to permit city staff to accept credit cards as payment of
taxes, fines, or fees,

Authorizing at the sole expense of the city, the payment of credit card
transaction fees and administrative fees for the convenience of city
customers.
