RESOLUTION NO. 06-012
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION
IN A DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS PROGRAM KNOWN AS
GAME OVER" EVERY TWO YEARS.
WHEREAS, On September 13, 2005, the Joint Drug and Alcohol Awareness Committee
passed a resolution requesting consideration of the City's support and participation in the "Game
Over" drug and alcohol awareness program at our high schools every two years, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake is well aware of the dangers
posed to our youth and the community due to juvenile alcohol abuse and driving under the
influence, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake supports the "Game Over"
program concept and results, and finds the program to be an effective tool in combating youth
alcohol usage; and, now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City
Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if
copied in their entirety.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Southlake supports the Game Over program and
desires the City staff to participate in the production of such program at our high
schools at least every two years.
Section 3. This resolution is effective upon passage by the City Council.
