A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE GENERAL
ELECTION HELD ON MAY 49 2002; DECLARING THE
RESULTS FOR COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 1 AND
COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 6.
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 4, 2002, a General
Election for the positions of Councilmember Place 1 and Councilmember Place 6; and,
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 4,378 votes as shown on the official election
results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, and
filed with the Acting City Secretary of said City; and,
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election, and
said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the
City of Southlake, Texas, on May 7, 2002; and showed the following results:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Rex Potter is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of
Councilmember Place 1, for a term to expire in May 2005. Carolvn Morris is
hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Councilmember Place 6, for
a term to expire in May 2005.
Section 2. The above canvass is, and the same is hereby in all things approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 7TH DAY OF MAY, 2002.
