A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE
CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake, Texas, is a home rule city acting under its Charter
adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5 of the Texas Constitution and Chapter 9 of
the Local Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council to call an election to submit proposed
amendments to the City Charter to the voters in accordance with Section 9.004 of the Texas Local
Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has indicated its desire to appoint a Charter Review
Committee to review potential propositions which may be placed on a final election ballot and the
Charter Review Committee will be charged with making a recommendation to the City Council on
proposed amendments to present to the voters; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All of the above findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City
Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied in its entirety.
Section 2. The City Council hereby appoints the following members to serve on a Charter Review
Committee:
1. The Southlake City Council, including the Mayor and City Councilmembers,
Places 1 through 6.
Section 3. The above resolution is hereby effective upon passage by the City Council.
