RESOLUTION NO. 00-60
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY . OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE
SOUTHLAKE PARK DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority granted by the Department
Corporation Act of 1979, Article 5190.6, Texas Revised Statutes as
amended (the "Act"), the City Council found it advisable to authorize the
creation of a non-profit corporation to be named the Southlake Park
Department Corporation, to act on its behalf in financing, under the Act,
eligible "projects" deemed to be for the benefit of the public; and,
WHEREAS, The Board of Directors shall be appointed by the
City Council and be composed of seven (7) persons; four (4) of the Board of
Directors shall be members of the City Council and the three (3) remaining
Directors must not be employees or officers of the City, or members of the
City Council, and at least one of the remaining Directors must be a member
of the Southlake Park and Recreation Board; and,
WHEREAS, terms of the Directors shall be for two years,
expiring on May 31 of odd numbered and even numbered years,
respectively. Directors may be appointed to succeed themselves. Each
director shall serve until a successor is appointed.
WHEREAS, currently three director positions have expired, the
Councilmember positions of Ronnie Kendall and Rick Stacy and one
citizen -at -large position filled by Norm Lyons; and,
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists which was held by Councilmember
Debra Edmondson with one (1) year remaining on her term. The term will
expire May 31 of 2001; now,
THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and
correct and the City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body
of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. The terms of Ronnie Kendall (Council representative), Rick
Stacy (Council representative), and Norm Lyons (citizen representative),

reappointment [one year remaining]. Under this resolution, the following
appointments are hereby made as allowed for in Ordinance No. 597.
Councilmember Position: Gary Fawks to expire 5/2002
Councilmember Position: Rick Stacy to expire 5/2002
Citizen Position: Tad Stephens to expire 5/2002
Councilmember Position Ronnie Kendall to expire 5/2001
Section 3. This resolution is effective upon passage by the City Council.
