RESOLUTION NO. 00-42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE GENERAL
ELECTION HELD ON MAY 6,2000; DECLARING THE
RESULTS FOR MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 2;
AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 6, 2000, A
General Election for the positions of Mayor and Councilmember Place 2; and,
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 4,488 votes as shown on the official
election results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of
Southlake, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and,
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said city voted in said
election, and said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the
State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council
of the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 9, 2000; and showed the following results:
MAYOR:
RICK STACY 2,777
DEBRA EDMONDSON 1,696
COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 2:
BOB WILLIAMS 1,849
WAYNE ROGERS 312
KEITH SHANKLAND 2,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Rick Stacy is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Mayor
for a term to expire in May 2003.

Section 2. A Runoff Election will be held on June 3, 2000, for Councilmember Place
2, between Candidates Bob Williams and Keith Shankland.
Section 3. The above canvass is, and the same is hereby in all things approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 9TH DAY OF MAY, 2000.
