RESOLUTION NO 00-33
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, DETERNIINING THE NECESSITY OF
ACQUIRING 14 ACRES OF LAND WITHIN THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1
The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas; hereby determines that a public necessity exists
that requires acquisition of 14 acres of land, more or less, described in Exhibit "A" and depicted on Exhibit
B" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes.
SECTION 2
The City council hereby finds that reasonable good faith negotiations have occurred with the
property owner in an attempt to purchase the property and that a fair market value has been offered to the
property owner for the property, which was rejected by the property owner.
SECTION 3
The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to commence eminent domain proceedings in
order to acquire the property.
SECTION 4
The City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to comply with the statutes of the State of
Texas with reference to the necessary legal prerequisites existing in or relating to the exercise of eminent
domain to appropriate said property for the purpose of expanding existing park land.
SECTION 5
The owner claiming an interest in said property is W. Ralph and Linda S. Evans whose mailing
address is 315 Shady Oaks Drive, Southlake, Texas 76092.
DULY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas on the day of April
2000.

PURCHASE PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Property description of an approximate 13 acre tract being a portion of Tracts 3C1 and 2A; and all
of Tracts 3D1 and 213; situated in the Littlebury G. Hall Survey, Abstract No. 686 within the City
of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas being further described as follows:
COMMENCING at the northeasterly right-of-way corner of Farm to Market 1709 (Southlake Boulevard)
and Shady Oaks.
THENCE north to a distance of feet, being along the right-of-way of said Shady Oaks and the
common southwesterly corner of said Tract 3C1 and northwesterly corner of adjoining Tract 3C to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
THENCE north to a distance of 230 feet, continuing along same said right-of-way and westerly limit of said
Tract.
THENCE east leaving said right-of-way to a distance of 300 feet.
THENCE north to a distance of 305 feet.
THENCE west to a distance of 35 feet.
THENCE north to a distance of 310 feet, being a point on the northerly limit of said Tract 3C1 and same
southerly limit of Tract 2A.
THENCE continuing north to a distance of 160 feet, being a point on the common limit of said Tfact 2A and
2B.
THENCE west along same limit to a distance of 350 feet, being a point along said right-of-way and same
common corner of said Tract 2A and 2B.
THENCE north to a distance of 160 feet, being along same said right-of-way and westerly limit of Tract 2B
to the common corner of said Tract and southwesterly corner of adjoining Tract 2C.
THENCE east leaving said right-of-way to a distance of 730 feet, being along same said limit to the
common corner of said Tract 2B and northwesterly corner of adjoining Tract 2131.
THENCE south to a distance of 160 feet, being along same said limits to the common corner of said Tracts
2A, 213, and 2131 and northwesterly corner of adjoining Tract 2A1.
THENCE continuing south to a distance of 160 feet, being along same said limits to the common corner of
said Tracts 2A and 2A1 and northeasterly corner of said Tract 3D 1 and northwesterly corner of adjoining
Tract 3D1A.
THENCE continuing south to a distance of 837 feet, being along same said limits to the common corner of
said Tracts 3D1 and 3D1A and being a point on the northerly limit of adjoining Tract 3D6.
THENCE west to a distance of 40 feet, being along same said limits to the common corner of said Tracts
3C, 3C1, 3D1, and 3D6.
THENCE continuing west to a distance of 610 feet, being along same said limits to the POINT OF
BEGINNING and containing approximately 13 acres of land.
