1996-023City of Southlake, Texas RESOLUTION NO. 96-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS HELD ON MAY 4, 1996, DECLARING THE RESULTS FOR MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS PLACES 1, 2, 4, 5, AND 6; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 4, 1996, a General and Special Election for the positions of Mayor and Councilmembers Places 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6; and, WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 2,382 votes as shown in the official election returns heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and, WHEREAS, the resulted of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 6, 1996 and showed the following results: W, MAYOR SALLY HALL 696 MICHAEL RICHARME 771 RICK STACY 905 COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 1 W. RALPH EVANS 1,274 REX POTTER 1,004 COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 2 GALE FARHAT 1,081 WAYNE MOFFAT 1,215 COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 4 DAVID A. MARTIN 1,392 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. W. RALPH EVANS is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Councilmember Place 1, for a term to expire in May, 1999; WAYNE MOFFAT is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Councilmember Place 2, for a term to expire in May, 1997; GARY FAWKS, is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Councilmember Place 5, for a term to expire in May, 1998; and SCOTT F. MARTIN is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Councilmember Place 6, for a term to expire in May, 1999. Section 2. That a RUNOFF ELECTION will be held on June 1, 1996 to declare the results of MAYOR and COUNCILMEMBER PLACE 4. Section 3. That this resolution is hereby effective after approval of the City Council.
