1995-036City of Southlake, Texas RESOLUTION NO. 95-36 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO A COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF SPLITTING THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas under the provisions of its Charter, Chapter XI, Section 11.03, has established a Planning and Zoning Commission to act as an advisory board to the Council relating to all nature of zoning, public improvements, civic improvements, city planning, opening, widening and changing of streets, routing of public utilities, controlling and regulating traffic upon the public streets and ways of the City and such other matters relating to City improvements as the Commission and the Council may deem beneficial to the City; and, WHEREAS, the City Council may by ordinance, at such time as deemed in the best interest of the citizens of Southlake, create a separate Commission to perform the duties of Planning; and, WHEREAS, the City Council believes it may be more beneficial to the citizens to split the duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission into two separate commissions, a Planning Commission and a Zoning Commission; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint members to a committee to study the feasibility of splitting the Planning and Zoning Commission; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. All of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. The City Council desires to appoint the following members to serve on the Committee: 1. Sally Hall 2. Ron Maness 3. James Murphy 5. W. Ralph Evans 4. Rex Potter Section 3. This resolution shall become effective after its passage and adoption by the City Council.
