A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO BRING A
CONDEMNATION ACTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING FEE
SIMPLE OWNERSHIP OF LAND FOR USE BY THE CITY AS A PARK,
LIBRARY OR FOR OTHER PUBLIC PURPOSES PERMITTED BY
LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake currently owns property which is being utilized
for rk purposes, said premises being known as Bicentennial Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that certain tracts of land adjacent
to and immediately west of Bicentennial Park would be in the public interest to acquire
for the future expansion of Bicentennial Park or, in the alternative, for utilization for other
public purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City and the owner of said property have been unable to reach an
agreement on the acquisition of this property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now deems it necessary to authorize the city attorney
to initiate condemnation proceedings on the property in order to acquire property
necessary for public use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
I.
The city attorney is hereby authorized to bring a condemnation lawsuit for the
purpose of acquiring approximately 11.5 acres of land out of the Littleberry G. Hall
Survey, Abstract No. 686, comprising portions of tracts 2A, 213, 3C1 and 3D1, said real
property being more particularly described as follows:
See Exhibit "A" for metes and bounds description
See Exhibit "B" for graphic description
for the purpose of providing a site for future expansion of Bicentennial Park or for other
public purposes permitted by law.

II.
The City Council finds that such acquisition in this condemnation action is necessary
in order to serve the public health, safety and welfare.
PASSED, APPROVED and EFFECTIVE this day of February, 1993.
