RESOLUTION 93-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, DECLARING ALL CITY
MUNICIPAL FACILITIES AS NONSMOKING AS PROVIDED
BY ORDINANCE NO. 537; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE:
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake has sought to promote public
health through the passage of Ordinance No. 537 which establishes
public smoking regulations and provides for the designation of
smoking and nonsmoking areas within the workplace; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 537 permits employers to designate all
areas of workplace facilities as nonsmoking; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake municipal facilities are
frequented by large numbers of individuals in confined spaces; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 537 requires the posting of signage
indicating the prohibition of smoking, the placement of suitable
containers for the extinguishment of smoking materials, and the
adoption of a written policy regarding smoking, now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section I.
It is hereby declared that the policy of the City of Southlake
is to prohibit the smoking of tobacco, products in all municipal
facilities as outlined in Ordinance No. 537.
