WHEREAS, the City of Southlake developed
Bicentennial Park through a grant with the
Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife in
1975; and,
WHEREAS, many citizens have supplied hours
of volunteer labor to build and maintain
a city park for all citizens, young and old,
to enjoy; and,
WHEREAS, funds were allocated in Fiscal Year
1987 Budget to upgrade the park; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT;
The City Council authorize the expenditure of funds in the
amount not to exceed $10,000. to prepare design and construc-
tion contract documents for Bicentennial Park construction.
Design and construction contract documents will be prepared
in individual bid packages for the following:
1. Parking Lot Paving/ Grading./ and Drainage,
2. Sidewalk at Concession Stand,
3. Sprinkler System,
4. Sod and Seeding, and,
S. Playground.
The funds to defray this expense of $10,000. will be obtained
by transferring $10,000. from General Fund Account, Parks
Department, Department Number 160, Account Number 900.00,
Capital Expenses, Department Number 160, Account Number 216.00,
Engineering. This $10,000. from Account Number 900.00 would be
obtained by reducing the following line items:
a. Pave Existing Parking, Road and Curbs from $77,457.00
to $72,457.00.
b. Site Grading from $15,000. to $13,000.
C. Sprinkler System from $8,620. to $8,120.
d. Sidewalks from $20,000. to $18,000.
e. Playground from $5,000. to $4,500.
