A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, IN SUPPORT OF A NEW EAST -WEST
HIGHWAY IN NORTH TARRANT COUNTY; DIRECTING THAT
A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE DELIVERED TO THE
CITIES OF GRAPEVINE, KELLER AND FORT WORTH AND
TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
UPON PASSAGE AND APPROVAL
WHEREAS, there exists an organization named CONET which is
composed of representatives of Northeast Tarrant County Cities,
Chambers of Commerce and interested private parties; and
WHEREAS, CONET has proposed a concept which envisions a new
proposed east -west freeway in North Tarrant County; and
WHEREAS, CONET has requested that the City of Southlake, Texas
consider the proposal; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that a new
freeway is needed, feasible and in the best interest of the com-
munity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake urges the Cities of Grapevine,
Keller, and Fort Worth to support a new freeway across Northern
Tarrant County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Southlake requests that the Texas Depart-
ment of Highways and Public Transportation work with all four
cities in evaluating and considering a new freeway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the findings in the preamble are found
to be true and correct and the City Council does hereby incorporate
said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied in
their entirety.
Section 2. That by passage of this resolution, the City of
Southlake, Texas expresses its support of the proposal of an east -
west freeway in North Tarrant County.
Section 3. That the City Administrator is directed and
authorized to send a copy of this resolution to the appropriate
official at the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transpor-
tation and to the City Managers of the Cities of Grapevine, Keller,
and Fort Worth.
Section 4. That this resolution be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS on this the 7 day of October, 1986.
