1986-001RESOLUTION 86-1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, deems it to be in the best interest, health and welfare of its citizens to plan and develop city parks and park sites; AND, WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Southlake desires to coordin- ate such planning and developing under a Parks and Recreation Commission and the Parks Liaison Officer; AND, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of South - lake to have this Commission serve a one (1) year, two ( 2 ) year or a three (3) year term; from the first City Council meeting in January 1986 to the first City Council meeting in January, 1987. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: 1. A Parks and Recreation Commission was created for the purpose of planning and developing parks and park sites within the City of Southlake for the use and benefit of its citizens. 2. The Parks and Recreation Commission shall, under the direction and approval of the Parks Liaison Officer, work with the City Planner as well as the Tarrant County Planning Division in planning and developing such parks. 3. Such commission shall meet if deemed necessary, on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Should any Commissioner miss three (3) consecutive meetings, his position shall be considered vacated. 4. The following are hereby appointed to serve on the commission for a term, with James Arnold serving as chairperson: James Arnold One year term: Ann Barns Phillip Bressinck Freddie Cate Two year term: Bill Lafavers Betty Springer Aloha Payne Three year term: Dan Tanner, Tom Walker PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 7TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1986.
