WHEREAS, the City of North Richland Hills
has made formal application to the State
Department of Highways and Public Trans-
portation to correct a serious and hazardous
traffic congestion problem in the area of
Loop 820, State Highway 121, State Highway 26,
FM 1938 and Highway 183; and
WHEREAS, residents of the City of Southlake
are affected by this hazardous condition as
they make daily use of these thoroughfares
as being the most logical an accessible
route to reach shopping, businesses and other
interests in the Northeast Tarrant County areas,
and
WHEREAS, the proposed project addresses traffic
and transportation patterns that effects all of
Tarrant County and the surrounding counties;
and
WHEREAS, the above described intersection complex
constitutes one of the most serious and hazardous
traffic bottlenecks in Tarrant County; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Southlake does hereby petition the State
Department of Highways and Public Transportation to authorize
the immediate approval of the design of an interchange system
at this location and to approve funding for said interchange
at the earliest possible time.
