1985-017RESOLUTION NO. 85-17
A Resolution authorizing the Mayor of the City
of Southlake, Texas, to retain an auditor for
the City pursuant to Article 1023a, Texas Revised
Civil Statutes, to replace J.D. Baines.
Whereas, J.D. Baines the official Auditor for the City of
Southlake, Texas, deceased recently; and
Whereas, the City of Southlake is now without an Auditor for the
City; and
Whereas, the laws of the State of Texas require that this City
I have in its employment at all times an Auditor to oversee the books
and records of such City;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved By the City Council of the City of
Southlake, Texas, that the Mayor of the City of Southlake be, and he
is, authorized to employ a Certified Public Accountant or a public
accountant holding a permit to practice from the Texas State Board of
Public Accountancy to replace J.D. Baines the past Auditor for the
City, to place the City of Southlake in compliance with Article 1023a
of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, relating to the
auditing of city records and the preparation of an annual financial
statement.
