WHEREAS, it is in the best interest
of health and welfare of the citizens
of the City of Southlake to have ample
water resources available; And,
WHEREAS, the contract with the City of
Fort Worth to furnish water to the City
of Southlake through the pipe line and
pumping station being built requires
certain extra charges to be incurred
for peak hour/day water quanities; And,
WHEREAS, adequate overhead water storage
is required to minimize the peak hour/day
excess charges; And,
WHEREAS, adequate overhead water storage
is necessary for fire protection and use
during periods of emergency; Now;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, CITY
COUNCIL, SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Mayor Lloyd 0. Latta Jr. is authorized to contract for
certain preliminary engineering services related to the
costs and constraction of additional overhead water storage
facilities to enable a comprehensive plan/program be formalized
for submission to the citizens of the City of Southlake during
fall of this year.
