FORUM SUMMARY: Property Situation: The property is located at 923 Dove Creek Trail Development Details: Sunsation Solar with TAC is requesting approval of a Specific Use Permit to allow solar panels to be placed on the roof of the property owner’s house. The applicant stated: • Solar panels are trending currently • Half a million homes in Texas now have them • Benefits to install • Affordable • Help increase in property value in Texas at 17% • Homeowners want to install to reduce energy costs, for environmental responsibility, reduce their carbon footprint, and reduce increasing energy costs • On the site plan, there is a tree in front of the house (located on a hill) that screens the solar panels on the front of the house • Homeowner is trying to match consumption with the layout and is cost effective for the resident Continued: • Panels are black on black units and panels run parallel to the roof edges and lay flat on roof. Presentation: Specific Use Permit Site Plan for 923 Dove Creek Trail Questions and Concerns: 1. How visible will the panels be? The panels on the front roof will be screened by the large tree and the 30% roof pitch will make it hard to see from the street. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac corner. 2. How is the 17% added value to the house determined? Several Texas real estate associations produce studies specific to Texas (Red Fin, Barclay Labs). 3. How I get in contact with you?
