ORDINANCE NO. 74
WHEREAS, the Town of Sout'zlake, Texas, by reason of its
close proximity to the Amon Carter Fort Worth International
Airport and Industrial and Commercial Establishments situated
in the Eastern part of Tarrant County, City of Dallas and the
Western portion of Dallas County, engaged in matters vital to
the defense of our nation, and other similar establishments
now under construction and contemplated to be located and
constructed in such area, has brought a'5out a rapid and material
increase in population in said Town.and its environ; and
WHEREAS, many citizens in the area aforementioned employed
in such establishments by reason of lack of sufficient public
transportation, to enable them to conveniently reach such places
of employment, are compelled to use private Motor Vehicles for
such purpose, thereby creating a safety hazard over roads and
Highways used by said citizens in going to and from their res-
pective places of employment, on which sufficient protection to
the General Public using said roads and highways is unavailable
at this time; and
WHEREAS, in tae best interest of the health, safety, and
general welfare of the Citizens of Southlake, its environs and
the public in general traversing the roads and highways hereinafter
described, the Town Council of the Town of Southlake, deems it
advisable to place such roads and highways under its jurisdiction
for policing purposes, which the Council so finds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED 3Y THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF SOUTULAXE, TEXAS:
THAT, the following named County Roads in Tarrant County,
Texas, described, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point, same being to the North right of way
line of County Road No. 3434 in the F. Throop Survey,
Tarrant County, Texas, and the West right of way line of
County Road No. 3119, said point being the North City Limit
Line of Southlake, Texas;
THENCE, North along the West right of way line of County
Road No. 3119 to a point where same intersects t;Ze South
right of way line of County Road ido. 3034;
T--M.40E, North aa.3 West alo.iil the South right of way line
of County Road No. 3050 to a point where same intersects
the City Limit Line in the said South right of way as
was created by Ordinance No. 31, adopted on the 29 day
of December, 1955, continuing across said Road at such
point to the North right of way line thereof;
THENCE, East along the North right of way line of said
County Road No. 3080 and continuing in a Southeasterly
ti
direction along said North right of way line to a point
where same intersects the East right of way line of
County Road No. 3119;
THENCE, South along the East right of way line of County
Road No. 3119 to a point w-dere same intersects the North
line of County Road No. 3034 and continuing across the.
said County Road to the West right of way line thereof,
the place of beginning.
BE and is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate
limits and made an integral part of the Town of Soutalake, Texas,
and that the official map and the boundaries of the Town of
Southlake, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be amended
so as to include the aforementioned roads and highways as part of
the said Town.
THAT, this ordinance shall become effective from and after
its passage and ap-proval by the Mayor, duly attested by the Town
Secretary and filed for record in the office of the County Clerk
of Tarrant County, Texas.
